Surf Agent ("we", "us") provides AI-generated surf forecasts. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We keep it simple: we collect only what's needed to run the app, and we never sell your data.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
• Your preferences: the surf spots you select, your board quiver (board type and dimensions), and your optional surfer profile (height, weight, skill level, style) — used to personalize forecasts and board recommendations.
• Basic technical data: standard request information needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

• To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• To generate personalized surf forecasts and board recommendations.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the app.

How your data is processed

Forecast requests combine public marine data (NOAA buoys and tides, the National Weather Service, and Open-Meteo) with your selected spots and profile. Forecast text is generated using the Anthropic Claude API. We do not send your name, email, or password to third-party AI providers — only the surf conditions and quiver details needed to produce a recommendation.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the app function (hosting, database, email delivery, and the AI forecast provider), solely to operate the service.

Data retention & deletion

We retain your account data until you delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Surfer → Delete account) or by contacting us. Deletion removes your profile, board quiver, and login credentials.

Subscriptions & billing

Surf Agent offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (Surf Agent Pro). All payments, renewals, and cancellations are processed by the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) — we never receive or store your payment card details. To confirm your subscription status, we check your entitlement with our billing provider (RevenueCat) using your account email as an identifier. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your store account settings.

Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard salted hashing (PBKDF2). Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Children's privacy

Surf Agent is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
